How to Get Involved and Help the Wish-A-Fish Foundation
A Wish-A-Fish event doesn’t just happen by itself. Without the many hours of work and
financial support from our dedicated volunteers, boat captains, donors and sponsors, our
fishing events would never leave the dock. The Wish-A-Fish Foundation receives no government
funding, so we are grateful for the generosity of the many individuals and companies who have
supported us over the years.
Donations:
The Wish-A-Fish Foundation is a 100% Volunteer organization.
Wish-A-Fish has no paid staff or employees. Everyone who volunteers
to help with an event is donating 100% of their time and talents.
That also means that 100% of the donations we receive are put directly back into
funding the events we put on for the kids. Local boat owners volunteer
their time and their boats to take the families fishing. They are very
generous with their support and use their own fishing tackle, and donate fishing
supplies and all fuel for the trip. All cash donations received go toward
purchasing items for the children and families - - Hats, T-Shirts, Fishing Rods
and Reels, Snacks, Drinks, Food for the picnic, Printing supplies for their pictures
and certificates, and Gift bags for the children. The Wish-A-Fish Foundation
is a registered 501(c)3 organization. Your tax deductible donations are always welcome
and appreciated.
Seeing the children's smiling faces will be the best "thanks" you will ever receive!
Volunteers:
Our Private Boat Events are always in need of individual who would like
to volunteer their boat and their fishing knowledge for the day.

All of our events need organizational and shore help. Before the event,
we need to reach out to special needs organizations, contact families, purchase
supplies, etc. At the event, we need help setting up tents, tables,
chairs, checking in families and captains, helping the families, taking photos,
and much more. Please see the photos in the
Gallery section for some ideas of what
happens on shore.

Sponsorship:
Corporate sponsors are an essential part of making our Wish-A-Fish events a huge success
with the families. We try to make the entire day a wonderful experience for
the families. The generosity of our sponsors allows us to provide event T-Shirts
and Hats to each child and parent, take-home fishing tackle for the children to use on their
next fishing adventure, photos, certificates, and awards to recognize their fishing
accomplishments, and a great picnic lunch/dinner where everyone can share the events of
the day together.
